Meet Jill O.
Major: Communication
Hometown: San Ramon, CA (Bay Area)
Graduation Year: 2027
Jill Ofodu is a USC student majoring in Communication with a minor in Cinematic Arts. She is deeply immersed in pop culture, video editing, and all facets of social media. She's currently involved on campus as the African American Cinema Society's Assistant Marketing Director, Administrative Chair, and PR Chair of McCarthy Honor's College, where she uses her communication skills and media knowledge. With a genuine dedication to USC Annenberg, she fosters community engagement and creative expression within the university.

I chose USC Annenberg because of the family feeling when I first walked into the building. In education, I am a firm believer that you should feel comfortable in environments that you will spend a lot of time within. From faculty to students, Annengerg never fails to make a student feel seen and make their mark not only within the school, but at the University of Southern California. If you want that family feeling and the best college experience, Annenberg is the place for you.

I chose Annenberg because of the amazing opportunities that the school offers. There is no better place to explore the media landscape than at the heart of LA. The community that I have found at Annenberg, both personally and professionally, have enriched my college experience so much.
Meet Jakeia B.
Major: Communication
Hometown: Cleveland, OH

I chose Annenberg because I was itching for an environment that fulfilled my interests in entertainment marketing, communication theory, and how to begin multicultural representation in the film industry. From being a student coder with the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative to mastering media economic fundamentals, I have been enriched beyond measure through curriculum and community. On campus, I am Communications and Programming Director for the Black Art Collective, an opinion-editorial writer for Annenberg Media, and the NAACP 1807-B Unit's Community Coordination Committee Chairwoman. As a multi-hyphenate, Annenberg extends my dreams and clarifies my professional purpose. It's an honor to uplift new members of the Trojan Family through this ambassadorship!

Growing up surrounded by the media world in LA, I always knew I wanted to join this field of producers and creators who strategically provide us with news, entertainment, and more. USC Annenberg has offered me countless opportunities to explore different avenues within the broad domain of media and communications that could not be found elsewhere. Involvement in co-curricular activities like Annenberg TV News has allowed me to develop new skills and career goals, and feel that I learn something new about myself each semester. Every day at Annenberg is exciting, and I'm incredibly grateful to be a part of the Annenberg family and have the chance to give back as an ambassador.

I chose Annenberg because it’s where I discovered my passion and found my place at USC. Enrolling in COMM 321 on a whim opened my eyes to the dynamic world of communication and media, and I immediately knew I was in the right place. Through Annenberg, I have connected with directors, storytellers, NBA All-Stars, federal and state officials, and phenomenal professors and peers.
